Dr. Nina Pejović Mandić

Dr Nina attended elementary and secondary school in Podgorica, and graduated in the US(Portland, Oregon). She graduated from the medical school in Zagreb, Croatia, and specialized in pediatrics at the University Children’s Hospital – Belgrade, Serbia. She worked at the Institute of Child Diseases of the Clinical Center of Montenegro until the founding of Doktorica Mica with Dr Vjera.

On three occasions she stayed in Austria, Salzburg for short training, organized by the American Austrian Foundation. She attends the European Pediatric congress once a year.

Dr Nina is a member of a Board of directors of the Association of Pediatrics of Montenegro.

She was a member of the National Interdisciplinary Commission for the more rational use of antibiotics. She served as medical adviser in the projects of the humanitarian organization INTERSOS and in UNICEF.

Public health work:

  • Training of nurses in kindergartens with the Small Pediatric School.
  • Visiting kindergartens in Podgorica and talking to parents about reducing antibiotic use.
  • Going to schools and kindergartens on several occasions and talking to children about healthy lifestyles.

Dr. Vjera Janković

Dr. Vjera attended elementary and secondary school in Podgorica. She graduated from the Medical School and specialized in pediatrics in Belgrade, Serbia, at the University of Children’s Clinic. She worked at the Health Center Podgorica until the founding of Doktorica Mica with Dr Nina.

In the organization of the American-Austrian Foundation, she stayed in Austria in Salzburg for training. She attends the European Pediatric congress once a year.

With UNICEF’s “10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding”, she was an educator for healthcare professionals throughout Montenegro. Also, under the program to promote breastfeeding by the Parents’ Association she trained volunteer mothers in breastfeeding help. She is a member of the Management Board of the Parents’ Association in Montenegro.

Public health work:

  • Training nurses in kindergartens within the Small Pediatric School.
  • Through her media engagement she contributes to the health education of parents.

She has been practicing pediatric medicine since 1990.

Pediatrician – endocrinologist of the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

Since 2000, she has been working at the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

She completed specialization in pediatrics and further specialization in endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

She deals with examination, treatment and monitoring of children with growth and development disorders, treatment and education of children and adolescents suffering from diabetes and examination, treatment and monitoring of children with other endocrinological problems.

Since 2014, she has been working at the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

She completed specialization in pediatrics and narrower specialization in allergology and clinical immunology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade (Institute for Healthcare of Mother and Child, University Children’s Hospital – Tiršova).

Dermatovenereologist.

She has been employed at the Dermatovenerological Clinic of the Clinical Center of Montenegro since 2000.

Faculty and specialization in dermatovenerology completed at the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade.

She deals with diagnosing, treating and monitoring adult patients and children with various skin diseases.

Dr. Veselinka Lola Đurišić

Dr. Veselinka Lola Đurišić

Veselinka was born in Niksic, where she completed Elementary School.

She did the advanced specialisation in gastroenterology as well as Master’s studies in gastroenterology, at the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Belgrade with an average grade above 9.10.

With great love, enthusiasm and commitment, she works for the Institute for Children’s Disease since 1995 covering several roles within the intensive care department, sub-specialists in gastroenterology in the department for gastroenterology and endoscopy.

She is the first graduated pediatrician gastroenterologist in Montenegro. She was also the first one to initiate the endoscopic procedures – gastroscopy and recto and colonoscopy. As a Head of the Gastroenterology Department, she has improved gastro endoscopy care for children, and formed a team of doctors and technicians who continue to implement these treatments successfully in Montenegro.

Veselinka was a lecturer at the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Medicine.

She is the founder of Kolasinska pedijatrijska skola – the biggest educational seminar for Montenegrin pediatricians.

She is a member of the Montenegrin pediatrician’s society and she used to cover the function of Head of Pediatrics Clinic in Montenegro at the Institute for Children’s disease.

Her wish and intent to help and improve the living conditions of children and adults in Montenegro was proved by founding the NGO Society for Coeliac Disease. She worked to set up the NGO, help the parents with nutrition, and lead the workshops for the education of both children and their parents on a gluten-free diet. Thanks to her engagement, children and adults with coeliac disease are now eligible to get the gluten-free flour on prescription in pharmacies founded by the country health fund.

She used to attend numerous seminars and workshops in gastroenterology and hepatology mainly abroad. She has also completed the school for ultrasound treatments in pediatrics.

Her point of interest is gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as every kind of health and living condition for kids in Montenegro.

 

Dr. Ivan Krgović

A specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Ivan Krgović attended elementary school and high school in Bijelo Polje.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.
After completing his internship at the health center in Podgorica, he worked at the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance, also in Podgorica.

He completed his specialization in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, during which he completed his specialist internship at the Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry for Children and Youth, Clinical Centre of Serbia, and at the Institute for Mental Health in Palmotićeva St., Belgrade.

Passed official training for tests that are the gold standard in the world for assessing developmental disorders from the autism spectrum (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)) and numerous trainings and seminars in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders and child and adolescent psychiatry (mental illnesses and disorders for people up to the age of 26).

He speaks English fluently.

Since December 2019, he has been the director of the “Ognjen Rakočević” Center for Autism, Developmental Disorders and Child Psychiatry.

He is the author and co-author of several papers on child psychiatry published in international journals.

Neuropsychiatrist – child neurologist.

She completed specialization in neuropsychiatry and further education in epileptology at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

She deals with examination, treatment and monitoring of children with neurological diseases, epilepsy and developmental difficulties.

She gained decades of experience in various fields in several neurological offices.

Pediatrician – hematologist of the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

Since 2008, she has been employed at the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

She completed specialization in pediatrics and narrower specialization in hematology at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

Since 2015, she has been a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica in the field of Pediatrics.

She is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica.

She deals with the treatment of children suffering from tumors and hematological malignancies, as well as the examination and treatment of all forms of anemia, thrombocytopenia and monitoring of children with other hematological problems.

She completed special education studies at the University of Belgrade, majoring in speech therapy.

Since 2005, she has been working at the Public preschool institution “Đina Vrbica”.

In her current practice, she mainly dealt with developmental and speech-language disorders of children aged 0-6 years.
In addition to therapeutic work, she deals with advisory and instructional work, both with parents and with persons who are professionally trained in child development (teachers, personal assistants…).

Pediatric surgeon at the Institute for Children’s Diseases.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad.

He has been working at the Institute for Children’s Diseases since 1999.

He completed his specialization in pediatric surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

He deals with surgical treatment of children from birth to 16 years of age. So far, he has performed thousands of operations.

She deals with diagnostics and monitoring of children with congenital anomalies of the urinary tract, diagnostics and treatment of acute and chronic kidney diseases, examination of urination disorders, monitoring of children before and after kidney transplantation…
